  • The peanut’s high salt content can also lead to an electrolyte imbalance in rabbits.
  • Lastly, the texture of peanuts is hard for rabbits’ teeth to break down, which can cause tooth decay and gum disease.
  • Peanuts contain high levels of sodium which can cause kidney problems in rabbits. 
  • They are not suitable for rabbits and can lead to weight gain, lethargy, and even death. 
  • They are high in fat and have a lot of cholesterol for a small animal. 

 Being a veterinarian, I do not recommend using monkey nuts in your bunny fellow. It’s best to avoid them altogether when feeding your bunny.
